Wow, what a week end. Juneteenth on the square, Gov. Barnes and wife hosting an event, Political signs going up everywhere and backyards becoming convention centers.

I have to add this one because I have been told over and over again that"Just because they eat your BBQ it dont mean they are going to vote for you"          On this one though I think they will all be voting for this candidate.

The scene was the well manicured back yard at Jim Carrolls home. It looked like Sunday morning with all the traffic going into Piedmont Church, which is right across from Scott Drive. They came to eat BBQ and the fixins and then listen to music and speeches. The occassion was a fun filled fund raiser for Bill Byrne, candidate for Cobb Commission Chairman.

The ribs and sides of pork were all cooked right there on the property on this masive specially constructed grill. The back yard had been decorated and included a stage. Introductions, songs, more introductions, more country music  and then remarks from the candidate with his wife, Babe, at his side.

Rhubarb Jones was on hand as was recording star Kristen Tinsley. It all made for a great time where the 80 plus folk seemed to be enjoying the evening and the company.

One problem is I am gaining back the weight I had lost.
