Just say no to All My Babies Mommas

This is not an attempt to bring awareness to Oxygen's new reality show All My Babies Mommas. The show will highlight Atlanta's rap artist Carlos "Shawty Lo" Walker  and the mothers of his 11 children. Mr. Walker has 11 children with 10 different women. Although we know there are a lot of reality shows on t.v. today. This will be the only show that has a title with a slang reference to how single mothers are reffered to primarily in the African American community. Why couldn't the show be called Single Father in the ATL or My kids and I. The catchy name will most likely briing in a lot of viewers. Hopefully show can bring awareness about the challenges a father have being the parent that does not have primary custody. It could also reference some initiatives from the government such as fatherhood.gov which gives insight on how to establish paternity, child support, joint custody rights,l and educational programs.  If the show does make it to the line up we hope that some of its proceeds will be donated to non-profit groups that promote youth development, sthrethening families programs , and enrichment programs.

While I agree that the term baby momma is stupid, calling the show Single Father in the ATL doesn't begin to describe this man.

Pam,
Unless you live or work with mostly African Americans it is a slang term used everywhere so it would be suggested to get current slang updates.

Charles, the black women I worked for at my last job hated the term. Of course, they all had children by men they were never married to, men who had children by other women. And in all fairness (or to explain), all of the white women who had children were married or had been married to the children's father. I asked one of my black coworkers about the term baby momma and she said she hated it but she really did like the child support she got.

I agree with both Pam and Monica but I hope that Oxygen pays heed to the various petitions and thousands of signatures asking that this show never see the light of day.

Every person should be against this show and network with every fiber of their being. Extremely poor choice of the producer and the network executives. Hollywood liberalism, anything goes mentality run amok again.

50 years after MLK and this is the best we can do. Utterly embarrassing. I dare the show, I dare them to take the entire cast and crew to the MLK memorial downtown and walk around the reflecting pool in humble reverence.

Good. Now if they could just cancel Sister's Wives and the Kardashian mess, life would be better. I'm not even sure I understand the Honey Boo-Boo thing either.

This show needs to happen. Personally I am the youngest of my dad's 7th children and my dad has been married 10 times. People I feel are crying because they can see themselves in this man. That is fine this needs to stop and the best way to stop something is to expose it. I hope to God that this show airs.

I work with alot of young African American men dealing with these hateful, spiteful, stupid young *unt's that try and get money by getting knocked up or women that want these babies daddies to pay their rent and bills when they live with another man, and the women are stupid to take these men to child support court because they still complain about the money because after courts get involved they only get 2% of the total money the men or father of the children pay! the courts absorb all the other money paid to child support. So guy's "KEEP YOUR ROCKET IN YOUR POCKET"
