Register for school break camp, family fun and fitness day, meet children’s books authors, free kids crafts

Register now for Spring Break camp at the Mable House or drop the kids off at local learning center to enjoy a fun day of craft making.

 

Patch has done the research and here are this week's picks for great things to do with the kids.

WHAT’S IN A NAME?
Where/When: South Cobb Regional Library, March 24, 3:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m.
Why Go: Kid’s can learn and join in with discussions about names and enjoy a craft project.
Pricing: Free.

SCHOOL BREAK CAMP
Where/When: Mable House Arts Center, April 4 - 8, 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Why Go: Register now for Spring school break camp for kids ages 6 to 12. Each day will feature different arts and crafts projects using multi-media art supplies and pottery. Attendees must bring their own ready to eat lunches as no microwave is available.
Pricing: Residents $90, non-residents $115. A supply cost of $10 is additional. Parents should register early as space is limited.

FAMILY, FUN AND FITNESS EVENT
Where/When: Pizza Bar, March 26 beginning at 12 p.m. until 4 p.m.
Why Go: Family event sponsored by Back 2 Back Family Chiropratic. Bring the kids and enjoy ice cream, popcorn, toys, prizes and giveaways. Sample new health care products and learn about toxins to avoid, proper ways to exercise and have some one-on-one time with the doctor.
Pricing: $5. Tickets may be purchased at the clinic or call 770-948-4511 for further information.

CHILDREN’S LITERATURE WEEKEND
Where/When: The Book Worm Bookstore, March 26 starting at 2 p.m. until 4 p.m.
Why Go: Dr. Annette Lainge , author of the popular children’s series of books the “Snipesville Chronicles” and Vanessa Lee, author of “Funny Jimmy” will be on hand to sign books, answer questions and discuss children’s literature.
Pricing: Free.

KIDS CRAFT DAY
Where/When: Lakeshore Learning Centers, Saturdays from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m.
Why Go: Free arts and crafts projects for kids. March 26 is create a brilliant butterfly day. Kids will use tissue paper, pom poms and pipe cleaners to create lovely butterflies. Kids will have great  time and parents can get a little time off for themselves.
Pricing: Free.
