Plan Your Spring Break Staycation

Did you wait until the last minute again? Looking for fun things for the children but don't have the funds and time to take off for a vacation? We've got you covered.

 

It’s Spring Break! Maybe you didn’t have the funds or the time off from work to take a vacation with the little ones, but there’s plenty to do here in the South Cobb area or nearby for an incredible staycation.

1.     Six Flags over Georgia, usually open only on weekends until May 27, will be open all week long for Spring Break.

2.     The Mable House Arts Center will have its spring break art camp Monday through Friday from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Students will be required to bring their own lunches. The cost of the weeklong class is $90 for residents, $115 for nonresidents with an additional $10 supply fee. For more information, call 770-819-3285.

3.     South Cobb area parks are a great place to take the children for picnics, to play on the playgrounds or just to play a game of catch. Check the South Cobb Patch directory for a listing of local parks.

4.    Ward Recreation Center will be offering School Break Day Camps for Kids (ages 5K-11) and Teen Camp (ages 12-15) Monday through Friday. Camp fee is $100 per week (due at registration). Registration in-person only.

5.     Spring Break Leadership Academy at New Genesis Church in Austell is a day camp that will be filled with dancing, education, music, acting and character and leadership development. The camp will begin at 9 a.m. and end at 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. Cost is $75 for the entire week. Food will be provided. This camp is open to middle and high school girls.
