Local support group helps connects moms

Use your “me-time” to connect with other local mothers and enjoy group activities.

Being a mom is one of the most challenging things that most women will ever experience. Feelings of isolation and a lack of “adult conversation” can weigh heavy on a busy mother during the day-to-day activities that revolve solely around the kids.

Reclaim your “me-time” and connect with other moms who may feel just the same as you by joining the MOMS Club of Austell/Mableton. This local chapter of the International MOMS Club was founded in June 2002 and offers mothers living in the Austell and Mableton areas a chance to meet and spend time with each other on a weekly or monthly basis. A few of the chapter’s activities include alternating play dates for the kids, monthly evening events for a mom’s night out, joining in on fundraising events for the local community and a host of other activities designed to get moms out and about with or without the children.

This local group aims to provide support activities for stay at home mothers,  provide interesting and topical forums for discussion, and organize at least one activity per year to raise funding or enhance awareness of needy children in the community. Connecting with other moms and helping to expand local awareness sounds like a great way to spend your “me time” and help others at the same time. Visit the MOMS Club of Austell/Mableton website for more details or to join your local club.

About this column: The kids are gone. You've got some time to yourself. Time to decompress. Time to breathe. Time for your Great Escape.
