I got the chance to spend Father's Day with my dad, who drove down from Nashville to hear me sing in the choir and spend time with me.
Growing up, I probably heard it a million times. I'm not exaggerating. My dad always told me, "Work before play." Because of that, my work ethic is strong, maybe too strong. However, I feel so blessed to have learned this lesson from my dad.
So, what did your father always say? Was it something hilarious? Maybe something that didn't make that much sense growing up, but now it means so much? Tell us below in the comments what your dad always said.

My Daddy always told me to "PAY IT FORWARD". Help somebody today so that when you are in need someone will help you too. My Daddy was a very smart man!

Telling us to turn off the lights when exiting a room, he would say, "Take Edison out of my pocket."
