Death Notices: Perkins, Gasaway, Scott

These are death notices of people who lived in or were from the South Cobb area.

Mr. Bill "Eugie" Perkins, 79 of Mableton died Sept. 6. He was a member of Mt. Harmony Baptist Church. He served in the Korean War in the Air Force and was retired as a general contractor. He is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Phillip & Valerie Perkins of Dallas, Rocky & Connie Perkins of Peachtree City, Mike & Sandy Perkins of Douglasville; daughter and son-in-law, Shannon & Tim Burton of Smyrna; 11 grandchildren, Brannon, Nick, Chris, Nathan and Nettie Perkins, Danielle Gober, Gary and Kevin Perkins, Brittney and Zakk Burton and eight great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Thursday at Davis-Struempf Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel. Dr. Randal Whitten and Bobby Thomas officiated. Interment was at Mozley Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mt. Harmony Baptist Church.

Mrs. Lottie Bowlen Gasaway, 87 of Austell died Sept. 8. She was preceded in death by her husbands, David P. Bowlen and Henry L. Gasaway and son, Harold Bowlen. She is survived by children, Marshall A. "Pete" Bowlen, Barbara J. Swancey, Betty J. Swearingen, Mary J. Snoddy, Howard A. Bowlen; Sister, Beatrice Rollins; nine grandchildren and many great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Funeral services are being held today at 1 p.m. at  Davis-Struempf Funeral Home & Crematory Chapel. Dr. David O'Dell officiating. Interment will be at Kennesaw Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mrs. Gladys Harper Scott, age 86 of Austell and formerly of Lindale, passed away Sept. 10, after a brief illness. She was a member of Highest Praise Church of God and retired from W.T. Grant department store. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, John Scott; daughters and sons-in-law, Jeannie and Mike Crane of Breman, Joni and Robert Wallace of Dallas; sister and brother-in-law, Betty Sue and Clyde Boyd of Rome; brother, Claude Harper of Blue Ridge, five grandchildren and spouses, Dr. Edward and Cindy McBride, Jeremy and Sunny Crane, Jamie Miles, Lori Beth Wallace and Joshua Wallace and eight great grandchildren. Funeral services were held Monday at the Davis-Struempf Chapel with Rev. Tony Stallings officiating. Interment was held at Rome Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made out to your favorite charity.
