Candidates Face Off in First Forum Tuesday Night

Candidates for countywide races, along with the South Cobb District 4 Commissioner seat, will face off for the first time Tuesday night in Marietta.

Candidates will face off Tuesday night during one of the first candidate forums held in Cobb since the election qualifying period ended on Friday.

The Cobb chapter of the NAACP will host its candidate forum at the Cobb Board of Commissioners boardroom at 100 Cherokee St. in Marietta from 7-9 p.m.

The first hour of the forum is reserved for countywide elections of Cobb Superior Court judge, Cobb State Court and Cobb district attorney.

Those vying for the County Commissioner seat and District 4 County Commissioner seat, which serves South Cobb, will be featured during the second hour.

The forum will be televised live on Cobb’s TV23.

Kennesaw State University history professor Dr. Tom Scott will moderate the forum. He will also take questions, which are written down by audience members.

Another candidates' forum will come to the East Cobb Library on Wednesday, featuring the four Republican candidates for Cobb Commission Chairman and District 2 commissioner Bob Ott, a Republican who is unopposed.

That forum, which is open to the public, begins at 7 p.m. It is organized by the East Cobb Civic Association
