Baby Found in Roach-Infested, Dog Feces-Ridden Austell Home
The parents were charged with misdemeanor of contributing to the deprivation of a child.
Cobb Police arrested two Austell parents earlier this week after police found their Austell residence on the 3200 block of Westview Street, where their 4-month-old also lived, was infested with roaches and the floor was covered in dog feces.
According to an arrest warrant obtained by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, molded food was left out in the kitchen and police said roaches were crawling on the infant seat, which was below exposed electrical cords.
The baby's mother, Rebecca Marie Willette, 18, was booked into jail on Tuesday morning and released on Wednesday afternoon on a $2,500 bond, according to the AJC.
The baby's father, 22-year-old John Christopher Torrance, was arrested Wednesday and remains in jail on Friday afternoon on a $2,500 bond.
Each of them were charged with the misdemeanor contributing to the deprivation of a minor.
