Colonial Hills Christian Varsity Boys Soccer team advances to Championship game.

On a rainy Tuesday night in Lithia Springs the Colonial Hills Varsity Boys Soccer team defeated North Ga. Christian 2-1 in overtime to advance to Saturday's ICSGA Championship game against Horizon Christian out of Cumming Ga.  Colonial Hills missed on several scoring opportunities in the first half due to good defense by North Ga.  leaving the game knotted at 0-0 at the end of the first half. Colonial Hills senior forward Nick Smith, who will be playing soccer for Covanent Christian College next season scored for the Rams 14 min into the second half.  With the score 1-0 in favor of Colonial Hills with four minutes left it looked as though the Rams would pull off a 1-0 win, but the Chargers scored to tie it up at 1-1.
Smith scored his second goal of the contest in the first overtime period giving CHCS a 2-1 lead. The Rams held off several Charger scoring attempts with great defense by seniors  Mark Ferrel , Jayson DeAsis and keeper Steven Bankhead in the final overtime. Seniors Logan Carpenter, Juan Carlos Little, and Jarred Williams kept offensive pressure on North Ga.'s defense which opened up Smith for his scoring opportunities. The Rams will face off against Horizon Christian for the ICSGA Championship on Saturday May 7, 2011 at Loganville Christian. Game time is scheduled for 2:30pm.
