Career Expo set for August 21 in Gwinnett County

ATLANTA – The Georgia Department of Labor’s (GDOL) Gwinnett Career Center and the Crossroads Career Network will co-sponsor their eighth annual Career Expo Tuesday, Aug. 21. The expo will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Snellville United Methodist Church, located at 2428 Main St. East in Snellville.
The expo will feature about 40 employers and resource agencies that provide assistance to job seekers. The employers will be hiring or discussing current and future employment opportunities, while other organizations will provide information about other resources.
Applicants should bring plenty of resumes and be prepared to fill out company applications and interview for available job openings. Attendees are encouraged to dress appropriately to improve their opportunities for employment.
The expo will also feature workshops and job-related seminars on interviewing, networking and career transition.
Employers expected to participate in the expo include: Advanced Disposal Systems, Aloricares, Applebee’s, Atlanta Electrical Contractors, Calo International, Charter Communications, Chico's, Comcast, Crossroads Career Network, Disabled American Veterans, Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice, Experis, Farmers Insurance, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Firestone, Georgia Department of Drivers Services, Genuine Parts Company, Goodwill of North Georgia, Gwinnett Technical College-Veterans Affairs Office, Gwinnett Schools (Nutrition and Transportation Departments), Gwinnett County Police Department, Healthport Technologies, House of Hawks (OTR Drivers), Impact Staffing, LGS Staffing, Lowe’s, Meggitt Training Systems, Inc., Metro PCS, Perimeter Staffing Placements, Schneider National Inc., Spirit Halloween, Staffing Advantage, Summitridge Hospital, The Vet Center-Lawrenceville, U.S. Army Reserve, U.S. Customs and Border Protection,  U.S. Navy Reserve, UCall & IHaul, Weiser Security Services, and Wells Fargo.
